Ben Lomond

Me and two of my friends decided we wanted to hike to the top of Ben Lomond, camp out, and then come back then next day. We hiked for a long time up this hill the whole time thinking at the top was the peak, then we get to the top of that hill and see that there is a bigger hill on the other side of it. So we hike up that hill to see that you have another huge climb to get to the peak. So we get to a little saddle below the peak and set up camp then we hike to the top. It was like we had to hike through hell to get to heaven the view was amazing. Then we hiked back to camp to find that there was only one bottle of Powerade and half a bottle of water left we weren't sure what to do but we decided that sleeping would solve it. I woke them up and it was so early in the morning that the lights of the city were still on and on the other side of the mountain the sun was rising and the sky was an amazing view. We hiked back and on our way found a spring dripping off this rock so we filled up our water bottles and finished the hike. Its an amazing hike if you are prepared...

Long boarding wipe out!

I went to our family reunion over the weekend and for our activity one day we went to a cemetery where most of the early Archibald's and Martin Harris were buried. Well on my way back towards civilization I found a sweet hill and told my cousin Jordan to long board down it, he weaved back and forth and was going about 3 mph. So then my head getting to me I decide that someone needs to be a man and just bomb straight down it... Dumb idea! I get going and it was nice and slow cause the road was made with huge rocks it looked like the poured tar then just dumped gravel on it, but very sharp gravel. Well pretty soon I get going pretty fast and for only starting a few weeks ago I started to get uncomfortable with the speed but saw a slight uphill at the bottom and figured that if I could make it to that I would slow down and all is well. Once I got to the bottom I started to go uphill but for some reason was still gaining speed... At this point I was going about 35 mph. Then I get one death wobble and that is all it took to make me lose my balance and go tumbling. The road took a piece of flesh from me and gave me some pretty sick road rash. So then we jump in my car and speed to the nearest gas station about 5 miles away it was a pretty fun time cause I was in shock with adrenaline rushing so while my cousins Jordan and Jon were trying to fix my arm I was flirting with the cashiers... what can I say. They decided I needed stitches later that night because they again cleaned it out and saw "fat cells" supposedly. So I got four stitches and now have to stay off my long board for a few days. It was TOTALLY worth it!
